Color Picker
How this app handles your information
Color Picker is published by Sugar Apps. It samples colors from your camera or a photo, checks contrast, and saves the colors and palettes you choose. This policy describes what stays on your device and what third parties process when you use the free version or buy Pro.

At a glance
- No account. You can use the app without signing in or giving us your name.
- Colors stay on your device. Camera frames, photos, saved colors, and palettes are not uploaded to Sugar Apps.
- Ads only in the free version. Pro, or an earlier no-ads purchase, removes the banner ads.
Information stored on your device
The app keeps the details below in a private database and preferences file on your phone. Sugar Apps does not receive them.
Saved colors store red, green, and blue values, an optional name, whether the color is a favorite or a recent pick, and the time it was saved. Palettes store the name you choose, the colors in the palette, and when it was created.
Settings store your theme, default copy format, whether color names and the pixel grid are shown, onboarding progress, and how many palette exports you have used that day. A separate flag records whether Pro, or an earlier no-ads purchase, is active on this device.
You can delete saved colors and palettes from Settings. Uninstalling the app deletes the database and preferences. Android backup is turned off for this app, so that data is not included in a Google backup of your phone.
Camera and photos
The camera permission is used only to sample a color from the live preview. Preview frames are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
When you choose a photo, Android gives the app temporary access to that image. The app decodes it on your device so you can pick colors or extract a palette. The photo itself is not sent to our servers. Only the colors or palette you choose to save are written into the local library.
You can deny the camera permission. Picking a color from a photo, the contrast checker, and your saved library still work.
Copying, sharing, and export
Copying a color or palette places that text on your device clipboard.
Exporting a palette as a PNG image, a PDF, or CSS and JSON writes a file or text in the app's private storage and opens Android's share sheet. It goes only to the app you choose. Sugar Apps does not receive a copy.
Advertising
Unless Pro or an earlier no-ads purchase is active, the free version shows ads through Google AdMob with Unity Ads mediation: banners on the Palettes tab, native ads on the Save tab, interstitial ads after some completed actions, and an app-open ad after cold start or a long time away.
Those partners may process device identifiers, including the Android advertising ID, your IP address, and information about ads you see or tap. Their own policies describe that processing. The colors you pick are not used to choose ads.
Where required, the app shows a consent form before personalized ads. You can also reset your advertising ID, or limit ad personalization, in Android settings. Buying Pro stops ads from being shown in the app.
Purchases
Pro is sold by Google Play as a weekly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. An older one-time no-ads purchase is still recognized if you already own it.
Google processes the payment. The app does not receive your card number or billing address. It stores only whether Pro is active, so it can unlock features and hide ads. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play.
Usage and crash reports
The app includes Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
Analytics records how the app is used, such as which screens open and how long a session lasts, along with an app-instance identifier and basic device information. Crashlytics sends a report when the app crashes. A report can include the device model, Android version, and technical details of the crash.
These reports do not include your saved colors, palettes, photos, or camera frames. Google's privacy policy describes how it handles them.
App configuration
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for usage and stability. It does not download a remote advertising-priority setting at startup.
The app does not upload your colors, palettes, photos, or camera frames to Firebase. Google handles analytics and crash requests and may process standard connection data, such as your IP address, to deliver them.
What we do not do
We do not ask you to create an account. We do not sell your information. We do not share your saved colors, palettes, or photos with other companies. The camera and the photos you open are used only to sample the color you ask for.
Children
Color Picker is a general-audience app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version.
If the app is sold or transferred, the buyer must honor this policy. The information described here stays on your device, except for advertising, purchases, and diagnostics, which are handled by Google and Unity.
